Alpine, NJ Detox and Rehab Centers

Located 18 miles north of Midtown Manhattan, Alpine is a borough of Bergen County in New Jersey.

In 2019, people in Alpine and Bergen County who sought treatment for a substance use disorder (SUD) identified alcohol and heroin as their 2 primary drugs of choice.¹ Other county statistics reinforce those choices. In Bergen County, statistics show that in 2019, most people chose to enter outpatient care or receive intensive outpatient care.¹ An intensive outpatient program or IOP is an alternative to inpatient treatment and, as the name implies, offers a more intensive version of outpatient care.⁶

Patients sometimes enter an IOP as part of a step-down process from inpatient treatment if they need more care than a traditional outpatient program can provide.⁶ In an IOP, patients receive a minimum of 9 hours of treatment services a week broken into separate sessions.⁶

Support groups near Alpine are designed to provide a safe place for those going through treatment for a substance use disorder to share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. While it’s not meant to be a substitute for more formal addiction treatment, many programs encourage patients to join a support group as part of their treatment plan.

A traditional 12-Step group meets regularly and is led by its members. It also recommends that current members connect with a longtime one for additional support and guidance.
