Arcadia, CA Detox and Rehab Centers

Arcadia, California is located northeast of downtown Los Angeles and is part of Los Angeles County. Arcadia is in the 5th Supervisorial District (SD 5).¹ Between 2016 and 2020, SD 5 had the highest rate of fentanyl overdose hospitalizations per 100,000 residents.¹ SD 5 also reported 530 fentanyl overdose deaths between 2016 and 2020.¹ Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid.

In October 2022, area law enforcement, assisted by the Arcadia Police Department K-9, seized 80 kilograms of cocaine during a traffic stop.² The drugs had an estimated street value of about $25 million.²

In regard to alcohol misuse in the area, a driver was killed, and his passenger seriously injured in a 2-vehicle crash in Arcadia in 2021.³ Police believed the driver who caused the crash was speeding and under the influence of alcohol.³ That motorist and a passenger were not hurt.³

Looking further at alcohol-related consequences in Arcadia, in 2020, the city reported 2.6 car crashes, 20.4 emergency department visits, and 1.7 deaths due to alcohol per 10,000 residents.⁴

A drug or alcohol support group provides a safe place where members can share their struggles and offer each other encouragement. Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (AA) are 2 types of addiction support groups. Both follow the 12-Step method.

People who live in and around Arcadia can attend AA meetings at the Santa Anita Racetrack – Gate 7, 2 S. Baldwin Ave., Mondays at 6:30 p.m., Fridays at 6 p.m., and Sundays at 10:30 a.m.⁷ Meetings are also held at 23 W. Foothill Blvd. Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 7 p.m.⁷

NA meetings are also held at the Santa Anita Racetrack in Arcadia on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays at 6 p.m.⁸ There is also an NA meeting in Arcadia at Eisenhower Park, 2nd Avenue & E. Colorado Blvd., Saturdays at 10:30 a.m.⁸

While a support group such as AA or NA should not take the place of drug or alcohol rehab, it can be used in conjunction with formal addiction treatment or as part of an aftercare plan.
