Ashaway, RI Detox and Rehab Centers

Ashaway, Rhode Island, is an unincorporated village and census-designated place in the town of Hoptikon, Rhode Island.¹ The town has a population of 8,462 residents, and about 1,444 reside in Ashaway.¹ This small village is right by the Rhode Island-Connecticut border, and it’s known as a peaceful, family-friendly neighborhood.²

• A live-in or residential treatment program hosts patients at a rehab facility while attending counseling sessions.
• Co-occurring mental health and substance use treatment. This program provides integrated care that simultaneously addresses substance use and mental health problems.

Although they’re not considered a treatment for addiction, drug and alcohol support groups are peer meetings that can help individuals with drug or alcohol-related problems find support to find long-lasting recovery.⁸ These peer group meetings take on many forms and styles. However, the most popular include Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA). Both groups are based on a 12-Step model and believe that addiction is a disease, not a choice.⁸
