Treatment Philosophy
Victory Bay is a behavioral health treatment center in New Jersey that offers effective outpatient treatment for substance abuse, mental health, and eating disorders. Our environment is welcoming and safe so people can recover and heal from trauma. We maintain small caseload sizes, which allows counselors to give the individualized attention clients desire. Counselors are trained in traditional therapies for the treatment, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Psychiatric services are regularly available to assist in managing any co-occurring disorders Group therapy is a primary treatment modality, but we aim to hold small group sessions. Individual therapy is also provided weekly, allowing for consistent attention to treatment goals. These private sessions allow for trust and rapport to be built with one’s counselor and the opportunity to explore concerns they may not be able to explore in group sessions. We recognize the importance of family who may also participate in therapy with their loved ones as requested. In addition, we offer case management services and support because we recognize that individuals have careers, health issues, and education needs that require attention.

Drug and Alcohol Addiction in Closter, NJ

Located in Bergen County, Closter is an overlapping suburb of New Jersey and New York. It’s considered to be among one of the best places to live in New Jersey as it offers a rural feel and highly rated public schools.1 Despite this, substance use disorders are just as much an issue in Closter as anywhere else in the United States.

For instance, Bergen County saw approximately 98,629 treatment facility admissions in 2019 alone.2 One of the main substances contributing to these admissions was alcohol, accounting for 36% of all admissions.2 However, illicit substances were also to blame, with heroin accounting for 35% of those admissions and other opioids and cocaine both made up at least 6% or more of those admissions.2 Other substances that contributed to individuals needing treatment included MDMA as well as methamphetamines.2

Outside of treatment admissions, 2019 saw a significantly high number of confirmed overdose-related deaths.3 A least 56 overdose-related deaths that year were caused by heroin, while 109 were caused by fentanyl, 37 by cocaine, and 41 by benzodiazepines.3

By 2022, Closter, NJ, and the rest of Bergen County saw a significant increase in these overdose-related deaths, with 896 confirmed deaths.4 The nation’s opioid crisis is said to be the cause of this increase, with fentanyl being largely to blame.5 Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that’s incredibly potent and colorless, odorless, and easy to mask. That’s why it’s often used to “cut” other illicit substances such as cocaine, heroin, pills, and so on—because it extends the supply and increases overall profits for those who sell illicit substances on the streets.5

In 2021, approximately 96% of the heroin submissions made by the local police throughout Bergen County and Closter to forensic labs reportedly contained fentanyl.5 Aside from heroin, there were other illicit substances tested for fentanyl, including various types of pills (usually other opioids) that came back positive for the synthetic opioid.5

With fentanyl on the streets and easy to get, it’s more dangerous than ever for individuals struggling with substance use disorders.

Closter, NJ Detox and Rehab Availability

If you know someone experiencing substance use issues or are struggling yourself in Closter, it’s important to know where to find treatment. There are currently 375 facilities within a 25-mile radius of Closter, NJ.6 Here’s the breakdown of the treatment programs you can find close to home:6

  • 291 facilities offer outpatient treatment
  • 73 facilities offer residential (inpatient) treatment
  • 273 facilities offer co-occurring treatment for dual diagnosis cases
  • 192 facilities offer interim care (if residential treatment spaces aren’t available)

Within 100 miles (in the state and surrounding its limits), there are approximately 6,288 treatment facilities to choose from.6 There are roughly 768 facilities that offer outpatient care and 2,879 facilities that offer residential programs within the state.6 Therefore, you shouldn’t have a problem finding treatment outside of Closter, if necessary.

It should also be noted that many of the facilities in and near Closter will likely offer more than one type of treatment program. Keep in mind that not all will have availability for residential treatment or offer interim care. So, if you’re looking for treatment, it’s a good idea to make a list of facilities that suit your needs within Closter, NJ, and other cities and counties.

Closter, NJ Drug and Alcohol Support Groups

When struggling with a substance use disorder in Closter, NJ, immediate support is there to help through one of the many group meetings sponsored by Narcotics Anonymous (NA) and Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). Meeting times and dates are subject to change, which is why you’ll want to use the following resources to stay current:

While group meetings offer a strong foundation of understanding and peer support, they are not a substitute for a professional treatment program. But they are recommended and sometimes required as a part of treatment aftercare.
