I walked into Quest, hopeless, defeated, and lost. But surely, I allowed myself to be vulnerable and open by the compassion and care shown by everyone there. From the staff to the Therapist and Case Manager, my needs were more than just met. At any point if I had a question (or several at a time) they would go out their way to help and solve or reached out to those who knew what to do.
From the start of detox, they watched over me with genuine care and well-being. I have never been to a rehab facility before, but now, if need be, I'd highly suggest this God send of a place to anybody! Allow yourself the chance for a sober happy life. Located in southern California, Corona is a city with 157,136 residents in Riverside County. In the county, the death rate for every 100,000 individuals is 17.5, which is considerably higher than the rest of California counties, and it continues to increase.1 In 2018, Corona placed fourth in the top 5 cities with the highest opioid-related deaths, averaging 2.7 per 10,000 individuals.2
However, Corona isn’t alone in its drug and alcohol addiction struggles. From 2011 to 2015, there was an average of two opioid-related overdose deaths per week in Riverside County.2 This places the county rates higher than Los Angeles and San Bernardino in California.2 In addition, local police say the percentage of fentanyl-related overdose deaths has gone up 800% in Riverside County.3
Besides opioids, the Corona area is experiencing increased alcohol abuse, with nearly 18% of residents reporting excessive drinking.4 Heavy drinking is defined as consuming eight or more drinks per week for women and 15 or more drinks per week for men.5 This is strictly related to an increase in alcohol-impaired driving deaths, accounting for 32% of deaths reported in 2021.4
