Detox Centers in Enfield, Connecticut

The town of Enfield is located in the northeastern part of Connecticut’s Hartford County, just 18 miles north of the state’s capital city, Hartford.¹ In 2021, Enfield reported 14 unintentional drug overdose deaths, which is a slight decrease from 2020.² Opioids, including fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid, were involved in almost all of those deaths.²

In July 2022, 5 men were charged with running an Enfield-area drug trafficking organization.³ Federal agents believe the organization was trafficking large quantities of cocaine, as well as heroin.³

A few months later, an Enfield couple was charged with multiple drug-related offenses.⁴ A traffic stop uncovered 20 folds of fentanyl as well as cocaine.⁴ A search of their home revealed an additional 500 bags of fentanyl.⁴

Alcohol is also a concern in Enfield. In 2021, of the 14 drug overdose deaths, 5 of them involved alcohol.² Between 2016 and 2020, there were 318 driving deaths reported in Hartford County, and 105 of them involved alcohol.⁵ This was 1 of the highest percentages in the state.⁵ In 2021, Connecticut State Police arrested an Enfield woman and charged her with driving drunk and going the wrong way on area expressways, hitting another car.⁶

  • Mondays at 7 p.m.
  • Sundays at 10 a.m.

The closest NA meeting to Enfield is in nearby Suffield at First Church of Christ, 81 High St.¹¹ Meetings are held Fridays at 7:30 p.m.¹¹

A support group does not take the place of more formal addiction treatment but can be an important part of an aftercare plan or rehab program.
