Fiskeville, RI Detox and Rehab Centers

Fiskeville is a small Rhode Island village located on the border of Cranston and Scituate in Providence County. Fiskeville’s Main Street acts as the border between these 2 towns.¹

According to the Rhode Island Department of Health, opioids are the biggest contributor to drug overdose deaths.² Fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid, was the second most common drug, followed by cocaine and alcohol.² In many instances, more than 1 drug was found in the person’s system.²

In terms of alcohol misuse, the residents of Providence County have the lowest rates in the state.⁴ This includes the percentage of excessive drinking among adults and deaths due to DUI.⁴

A support group designed for those dealing with a drug or alcohol addiction can be beneficial to the recovery process. These groups offer social support, can help people develop coping skills, and increase their motivation to stay sober.

Typically, all that is required to join a support group is to walk in the door of the closest meeting. Two well-known support groups for addiction are Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA). • Matthews Church, 1301 Elmwood Ave., Wednesdays and Fridays at 7 p.m.

There are NA meetings available in Cranston as well.⁸ They are located at:⁸

A support group is not designed to replace more formal addiction treatment but can be used to help complement professional treatment during a person’s recovery.
