Futures changed my life and I am forever grateful for the program and staff. When I showed up I was a complete train wreck. I can actually live my life happy and clean and I would not have been able to do that if it wasn't for every one involved in my recovery process. I tried to stay because I loved it so much.
From the clients point of view we offer a fantastic program with many recovery options from 12 step, holistic, to SMART recovery. Our beautiful local beaches provide the serenity needed to help our clients heal from the inside out. Combine this with a staff that is warm, welcoming, and empathetic to our clients needs and you get the perfect foundation to start your recovery. More rooms for IOP are needed. The housing is beautiful and well kept. The real life activities offered such as, bowling, movies, and kayaking, help clients learn how to live in recovery.
Dimitrius and Tony did amazing groups and offered very motivational words that helped break down what addiction is, how people are affected by it, and some of the tools to help me recover. Therapist James, and Therapist Trina and Jennifer were able to go into depth with me to help with stuff outside of my addiction on like personal stuff that was more at the root cause of my using. Care Coordinator Mattie really takes initiative to help clients. Nurse Glenn was so kind and laid back and understanding. He was always there to help. The kitchen staff Orlando was cool and funny, which always helped make my day better. TA's Michael, Kishan, and Marvin were able to joke around with me and I related with them so it helped that I didn't feel judged. The groups had a lot of coping skills and changed my way of thinking, to gain perspective on life and addiction in general. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The lounge areas were chill. It was just fun to have fun sober and do sober activities. I'm appreciative to River Oaks for the experience I've had and the life changing perspectives that have been installed into me from my stay here.
