This place has seriously become family to me. I never thought I could become what I am today until I met everyone that worked here. The facility is absolutely amazing. Very very clean .... always very very clean.... the food is phenomenal thanks to the wonderful cooks. My life was seriously headed straight for death but this team worked a miracle and saved me. The entire staff is great and the way they all truly care as opposed to them just doing the job is extraordinary. I was able to fully hand myself over and trust where I was to help me.

Stepping Stone Center for Recovery

If you suffer this disease, they are the best course of action I can recommend. They work very hard to help you come to grips with your addictions. A fine place with great people, most of whom are in recovery themselves so they know where you are coming from. They got their education THE HARD WAY, they lived it. Although still an alcoholic, I am in control of my actions and choose NOT to drink. It WILL kill me. I relapsed, it was my fault. TOO comfy in myself. THEY did a GREAT job. Quality environment, intensive help/therapy, excellent counselors.

Drug and Alcohol Addiction in Jacksonville, FL

With more than a million residents, Jacksonville is the most populous city in Florida and the 14th largest city in the United States.1 If you are among the many people in Florida dealing with a substance abuse issue, some programs and facilities can help you recover. Florida had the following drug use issues in 2018-2019 among people 18 and older:2

  • 1,979 people engaged in illicit drug use in the past month.
  • 1,755 people used marijuana in the past month.
  • 9,167 people consumed alcohol in the past month.
  • 4,025 people engaged in binge drinking in the past month.

The drug use in Jacksonville stems from and leads to additional problems for the community, as evidenced by police reports.3 According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, a large cocaine trafficking operation was uncovered in January 2022, resulting in the confiscation of 30 kilos of cocaine.3

This arrest came after the sheriff’s office started an investigation into a drug operation in April 2021. 3 During the investigation and arrest, it was determined that several trafficking organizations were dealing out of Jacksonville. 3 In fact, large shipments of cocaine were coming in from Puerto Rico. 3

Also in April 2021, Operation Early Checkout, directed by the Jacksonville narcotics team, brought about the arrest of 63 suspected drug dealers.4

There is hope for recovery for those dealing with a substance use disorder. A qualified drug and alcohol rehab center can help you navigate the recovery process.

Jacksonville, FL, Drug and Alcohol Support Groups

Support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA) can provide additional help as you recover. 7 This group brings together those who want to quit drinking so they can share their journey and support each other. There are no requirements or costs for attending. 7 People from all walks of life are welcome to attend. 7

AA and NA use the 12-Step model for their group sessions.7 The 12-Step approach is based on spiritual principles, rooted in submission, and letting go of control over the addiction.7 The program has found tremendous success through the years.7 AA and NA should not be used to replace detox but as a complement to rehab treatment.

You can find a local AA or NA by checking online for a chapter near you.
