This place has seriously become family to me. I never thought I could become what I am today until I met everyone that worked here. The facility is absolutely amazing. Very very clean .... always very very clean.... the food is phenomenal thanks to the wonderful cooks. My life was seriously headed straight for death but this team worked a miracle and saved me. The entire staff is great and the way they all truly care as opposed to them just doing the job is extraordinary. I was able to fully hand myself over and trust where I was to help me.

FHE Health

There were 2 parts--Detox Facility: Skilled and caring staff, high tech equipment, Clean and Beautiful Accommodations. Rehab: Clean and Nice accommodations. Detox: No weaknesses in my opinion. Rehab: No flexibility on rules in regards to age or type or addiction. Everyone was treated the same as if in a mold, everyone is not the same. I was 50 years old and not a street addict or forced there, still was treated the same as the 20 year old's. Much too strict for me--too many rules, and other things I did not like I had to leave "Against Medical Advice", and was driven to a train station not knowing if I had money for a flight or anything and not feeling well at all and not being able to use a phone on their premises first. It was awful. The Florida House Detox did what they were supposed to do with me: detox off of Methadone after 7 years, but then I was sent to the Rehab facility and was not prepared and was shocked by the experience since I'd never been to a Detox/Rehab and the Rehab to me felt like jail. I would send my son or daughter there knowing they were in good hands as The Florida House knows what they're doing. But me being 50 I couldn't handle the rules and the marching around and the very busy schedule.

Drug and Alcohol Addiction in Palm Bay, FL

Palm Bay, Florida, with a population of 118,568, is a place with beautiful palm trees, the Atlantic Ocean, and plenty of recreational activities to keep life interesting.1 However, it is also a place where substance use is a concern. Floridians are using a variety of drugs, and many people are developing disorders because of it. From a 2017–2019 Behavioral Health Report, the following Florida drug use information was found about residents’ past-year use:2

  • 7 million people used marijuana, with 232,000 having a marijuana use disorder
  • 51,000 people used heroin

  • 165,000 people had opioid use disorder

The number of people misusing drugs in Florida could cause difficulties for those with an addiction background or mental health disorder.3

Not only does Florida have drug use happening in the state, but there is also drug crime occurring within the Palm Bay area.4 In 2019, the Palm Bay Police Chief announced the department was cracking down on illegal drug trafficking and arrested over 50 people involved in narcotics sales.4
