Quest 2 Recovery truly saved my life! Without the outstanding staff and program, I would have not been able to continue with my recovery. Owner makes himself accessible in the facility to all the clients and does the full upmost efforts in hiring his staff. I walked into Quest, hopeless, defeated, and lost. But surely, I allowed myself to be vulnerable and open by the compassion and care shown by everyone there. From the staff to the Therapist and Case Manager, my needs were more than just met. At any point if I had a question (or several at a time) they would go out their way to help and solve or reached out to those who knew what to do. From the start of detox, they watched over me with genuine care and well-being. I have never been to a rehab facility before, but now, if need be, I'd highly suggest this God send of a place to anybody! Allow yourself the chance for a sober happy life. Quest has the resources for that and Staff who you will consider family afterwards. A huge big THANK YOU to the care team!

The accommodations I received during my treatment at Luxe are unparalleled. The staff is so amenable and really helped me understand how to move forward in recovery in ways I haven’t been able to understand throughout my past attempts in treatment. The location and ambiance of the facility speak for themselves, but the best part was the tailor made menu.

I cannot stress how grateful I am to begin a new life. I am 33 days sober for the first time in 46 years. I love everyone there. I am 63 and 35 days ago, I was going to take my life. I would give them a 10!

Michael's House

I thoroughly enjoyed and learned a lot about myself at this facility. However, I felt as if the staff were very pushy when it came to making sure we went to every single class, meal, activity, etc when there were activities every hour on the hour. I would have appreciated some willingness to talk to me and engage about the reason or reasons as to why I wasn't going to groups. I guess, I felt smothered and no room to breathe. Michaels House was absolutly gorgeous with palm trees, flowers, rain falls attached to a pool, as well as a hottub. We had 3 meals that were made by a personal 5 star chef. We always ate as much as we pleased and that was awesome for me! I was very impressed with all the weekly activities they let us go on. I got to go to horse therapy up in the foggy mountains above Palm Springs. I was apart of many NA and AA meetings off site, gym was in between a group on site that started an hour before lunch time. I went hiking at Joshua meadows. Made a couple really nice friends, the staff were there for me, and overall I had a decent time there. I think the only weakness this specific facility had was they lacked the awareness to identify behavior that was or is worrisome from its patients. Everyday I wrote in a journal and I wrote every single day that I was relapsing the second I got out. I was playing along most the time. Also, I was okay when they transferred me from the detox house, to the womens facility, in fact I was comfortable enough to not worry about the stuff people would usually laugh at me about.

Drug and Alcohol Addiction in Palm Springs, CA

Palm Springs, located in Riverside County, CA, is home to 44,575 residents as of the 2020 census.1 While this city in southern California is known for stylish hotels, spas, and golf courses, at least 17.3% of its population falls under poverty lines.1 Palm Springs is also part of what’s known as the Coachella Valley, where local news outlets report at least 55% of homeless individuals struggling with drug and alcohol abuse, while another 44% reported mental health issues.2

Homelessness has become an increasing problem in Palm Springs, to the point business owners are coming together to form watch groups to combat public nuisances.3 The local news report that these community-based efforts are a way to provide support to homeless individuals in need of addiction and mental illness treatment.3

But homelessness isn’t the only driver of substance abuse in California. According to a report looking at responses from 2019-2010, between 13% and 18% of people aged 12 or older reported using illicit drugs within the past month.4 Children between the age of 12 and 17 were among the highest users, reaching 12.41%.4 Most users (4.21%) chose cocaine as their drug of choice, while only 0.44% used heroin and less than 1% methamphetamines.4

On the other hand, California is among the states with the highest prescription pain relievers.4 In 2018, city reports placed Palm Springs as the city with the highest opioid-related inpatient hospitalizations, with a rate of 349.6 per 100,000 residents.5 According to local news reports, the city is making efforts to promote mental illness and addiction treatment journeys for its residents.6

Palm Springs, CA Drug and Alcohol Support Groups

Drug and alcohol support groups are an excellent complement to formal addiction treatment.9 These peer support groups provide a safe and supportive space for individuals engaged in treatment and after. The most popular ones are those affiliated with Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA).9

In the Palm Springs area, the closest local AA resource is the Central Intergroup Office of the desert.10 They host meetings every day, online and in-person, starting as early as 7:00 am.11 The latest availability and meeting times can be found at www.aainthedesert.org.

Palm Springs is located in the Lower Desert Area, and for NA resources, residents can turn to CIRNA.12 They host meetings every day, online and in-person, starting at 5:30 pm on weekdays and 10:00 on weekends.12 To find the latest availability and meeting times, visit www.cirna.org.
