Detox Centers in Pearland, Texas

Pearland, TX, is part of Brazoria County and extends into sections of Fort Bend and Harris counties. Pearland is considered the fastest-growing city in the Houston region and is located just 20 minutes from its downtown.¹

However, Pearland is no stranger to substance misuse and addiction. In 2020, Brazoria County reported 43 drug overdose deaths.² Twenty-seven of them were due to opioids, and 12 involved cocaine.² In 2021, the county reported 111 emergency department visits due to opioids.²

A support group for addiction offers patients a place where they can open up and share with people who have experienced similar issues. These groups help address the isolation many people feel while going through addiction treatment.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) are two types of support groups that can be found across the country. AA meetings in Pearland are held at several locations, including the following:⁸

• Crossroads UMC, 10030 Scarsdale Blvd.: Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8 p.m.
• Friendswood United Methodist Church, 204 W. Edgewood Dr.: Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 8 p.m.

The First Presbyterian Church also holds NA meetings Monday through Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m.⁹

AA and NA meetings are based on the 12-step recovery process, which requires people to look inward, admit their mistakes, and make amends to friends and family.
