Mental Health Systems Inc.(MHS) is Ramona’s only treatment center. They offer multiple options for treatment, such as inpatient rehab, standard outpatient treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, co-occurring disorder treatment, medication-assisted treatment, addiction aftercare, and a wide array of behavioral therapies. MHS provides specialized programs for adults, adolescents, the LGBTQ community, and military families. Medicaid, government funding for substance use treatment programs, and state-financed insurance plans are all accepted by MHS.⁵

Drug and alcohol support groups are a great option for those looking for a safe space to connect with others who are on the road to recovery. Many seek emotional and spiritual support through the different networks offered by Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Dozens of AA and NA meetings that meet regularly are available in Ramona and towns close by. Multiple AA meetings are available throughout the week. Discussion Ramona holds meetings every day but Thursday at 1710 Montecito Rd. Sweet Surrender holds meetings on Sundays at 1710 Montecito Rd.

AA meetings are offered on Wednesdays by Step and Tradition at 1010 12th St. On Fridays, Discussion Main Street holds meetings at 1735 Main St.⁷ There are also several other options for AA meetings in neighboring towns, such as Escondido, Valley Center, and Poway.⁶

One NA meeting is held at the Congregational Church on Mondays and Tuesdays at 404 8th Street in Ramona. Several other NA meetings are held within 15 miles of Ramona at the Trinity Episcopal Church, the House of Prayer Lutheran Church, and the Lakeside Hotel.⁷
