They let me work day labor on the weekends. I have been Clean & Sober for 25 years. They had a 3/4 house where I could rent an apartment and had a meeting there once a week for my aftercare treatment. I have been sober since leaving the program. The program taught me that there was another way of life that included Prayer and Meditation. 1 of my counselors taught me how to meditate and how to grow Spiritually. I had to get rid of my old ideas about what I thought about Religion and to choose a God that I wanted in my life.

I found the emphasis on physical activity and service work to be quite effective in my case. It has been essential in my recovery to once again feel good about myself physically. When I got to Jaywalker I could barely walk. Within two months, I was rock climbing! The mental determination to achieve this has served me well on the road to becoming emotionally fit. I went through the Lodge, Solutions, and IOP programs and became physically and mentally \"weller\" each step of the way. Our son attended their inpatient center. We thought things were going well, except for lack of family involvement as promised, until we discovered that he was prescribed a few drugs. The scariest one is a dangerous antipsychotic medication called seroquel for its off label use to treat anxiety and insomnia. Now he is addicted to that medication and is suffering very unpleasant withdrawals As he is attempting to stop the drug. He was completely unaware of the nature of the drugs he was on and trusted their doctor to his own detriment! Our son reports most patients are prescribed this very dangerous drug at their treatment center. Shameful!
