Temecula, CA Detox and Rehab Centers

Nestled among championship golf courses and acres of picturesque wine country is the city of Temecula, California. The city is located in the Inland Empire of Riverside County between San Diego and Los Angeles.¹

Temecula is the 5th largest city in Riverside County, with a population estimated at over 110,000 people in 2020.² Unfortunately, as is the case in any growing community, there are a number of Temecula residents who struggle each day with an addiction to drugs or alcohol.

Methamphetamine use in Temecula typically runs higher in older adults.⁵ In 2021, 398 people in Riverside County died of a fatal methamphetamine overdose.⁵ The majority of those fatalities were in adults aged 45 to 64.⁵

Fentanyl is to blame for many overdose fatalities in younger Riverside County residents.⁵ Fentanyl is a dangerous synthetic opioid 80–100 times more potent than morphine.⁶ Overdoses of fentanyl are usually unintentional because the drug is often used for lacing other drugs such as heroin.⁶

In 2021, over half the people in Riverside County who died due of a fentanyl overdose were aged 25 to 44.⁵ The total number of fentanyl-related overdose deaths that year was 341, 182 of which were in adults between age 25 and 44.⁵

In total, 685 Riverside County residents died from a drug overdose in 2021.⁵ This was an increase over 2020 by about 74 cases.⁵ Men aged 25–64 accounted for the majority of overdose deaths in the county.⁵

• 21 residential facilities
• 37 treatment centers for a dual diagnosis of substance abuse and mental health disorder.

California has more facilities for treating substance use disorders than any other state in the U.S.⁸ In 2020, 1,734 centers served over 70,000 clients.⁸ The state has 1,043 outpatient treatment centers, 246 detox facilities, and 771 residential inpatient facilities.⁸
