The herd lives full-time on the ranch: fifteen horses, each matched to clients based on temperament and need, assessed daily, and rotated out if they need a break. Horses respond to what clients actually feel beneath the surface, not what they’re saying. Align helps teenage boys in grades 9-12 who are navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, executive functioning challenges, substance use addiction, difficulty with traditional school settings, and family conflict or behavioral issues. This dual-diagnosis residential program doubles as an accredited recovery high-school—so clinical healing and academic progress happen together. Their campus is a setting where bright, stuck teens rebuild confidence, catch up in school, and start to breathe again.

Sierra Tucson provides evidence-based treatment options for behavioral health issues, including substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. Services include medication evaluation and management, medically supervised detoxification, individual and group therapy, equine-assisted therapy, biofeedback, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, interpersonal skills training, nutrition, acupuncture, massage, yoga, 12-Step meetings, family programs and continuing care.

I was fortunate to attend the Sierra Tucson recovery center. I was grateful to be assigned to the Red, White and Blue group for active duty military, veterans and first responders. The medical/recovery care and attention to detail was outstanding!
