Dual Diagnosis/Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment
These two terms describe a person who is not only addicted to drugs or alcohol, but also has a mental or emotional illness, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. Facilities that treat patients with dual-diagnosis or co-occurring disorders provide psychiatric treatment in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

- Michelle Cort, DHAChief Operating OfficerDr. Michelle Cort is a high performance, quality driven healthcare professional with more than 25 years of experience and expertise in visionary leadership and problem resolution for healthcare facilities. She is exceptionally organized and disciplined with well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and direct others in a supportive and cooperative team environment. Dr. Cort has been recognized for consistent successful development of systems, processes, and procedures to streamline operations, increase revenues, and enhance profit performance. She holds a Doctorate in Health Administration from the University of Phoenix, Master of Science in Health Care Policy and Administration from Mercer University and a Bachelor of Science in Counseling from York College. Dr. Cort presently leverages all her training and experience in her work as the Chief Operating Officer for Atlanta Recovery Place. Dr. Cort is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Telemedicine Association
- Lisa Ehlers, LCSW, M. Ed.Clinical DirectorLisa Ehlers serves as the Clinical Director of Atlanta Recovery Place. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, educator, and advocate. Lisa is a Georgia native and attended Kennesaw State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and then her Master of Science Degree in Middle Grades Education. She spent 19 years as an educator in the Cherokee County school system. Lisa returned to school in 2011 and received her Master in Social Work from Kennesaw State University with a concentration in substance abuse and mental health. Since then, she has worked in various settings including psychiatric and substance abuse treatment facilities, counseling agencies, and in a foster care agency. Lisa is a member of the National Association of Social Workers as well as the Georgia Society for Clinical Social Work
