Buffalo Valley Inc. - Lewisburg

554 2nd Avenue, Lewisburg, Tennessee, 37091
At Buffalo Valley our belief is that chemical dependency is a primary, progressive and chronic disease that can be fatal; therefore, it is imperative that the alcoholic/addict be treated as a person suffering from an illness. Chemical dependency results from a number of causative factors, including those which are physiological, psychological, spiritual, and social in nature and origin. Therefore, our treatment approach addresses the individual needs of each person seeking our help. Assessments identify the presence of conditions contributing to substance use/abuse and how alterations of these conditions may contribute to a positive treatment outcome.

Specialization

  • Residential Treatment

Residential treatment programs provide housing (food and meals) in addition to treatment for substance abuse. Some facilities offer only short-term residential treatment, some offer only long-term treatment and others offer both, ranging from a few days to many months, based on patient needs.
  • Dual Diagnosis/ Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment

These two terms describe a person who is not only addicted to drugs or alcohol, but also has a mental or emotional illness, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. Facilities that treat patients with dual-diagnosis or co-occurring disorders provide psychiatric treatment in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.

If you are an alcoholic or parent of an alcoholic, please reconsider. Never heard from his counselor Saul in thirty days. Son knew He wasn’t ready and we offered to pay an additional money. For Buffalo Vallley, all about grant money.

WARNING!!! Avoid this place, no matter what it takes! Staff is unprofessional, food is barely edible & they will let you go into full-blown withdrawl and still not give you any medicine. I don't know how this place stays open, let alone why it's not shut-down.

This is a poor excuse for rehab. This is where the state sends everybody who made a deal to avoid jail or get released early. There is a real prison yard mentality among many "patients", incuding an unofficial economy based on cigarettes and other hustles. Food is a little better than jail, edible but not much more. Most of staff were very nice and do their best, but there is little structure and no enforcement of the rules. It would be too hard to try to make all the convicts there behave like adults, so they dont really try. You CAN get in here with no insurance and no money, and if you have no other options and really need to get away for a month to try to dry out, its better than nothing, but this place is closer to a homeless shelter than a treatment center.
