Specialization

  • Dual Diagnosis/ Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment

These two terms describe a person who is not only addicted to drugs or alcohol, but also has a mental or emotional illness, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. Facilities that treat patients with dual-diagnosis or co-occurring disorders provide psychiatric treatment in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.
  • Intensive Outpatient (IOP)

Patients who undergo intensive outpatient treatment continue to live at home and sometimes go to school or work while participating in a highly structured treatment protocol that is focused on ending substance abuse. Programs vary in terms of how much treatment patients receive, how often and for how long. Some facilities design individualized intensive outpatient treatment programs.

I went to CADAS in March, 2011. From inpatient to a long term stay at Oasis, their half-way house. Overall the experience was good. I made some life-long friends while I was there and that has probably been the one thing that kept me sober in the beginning months after my time there ended. There were several things about CADAS that I disagreed with at the time, and a few of them I still do to this day. However, and against the “wishes” of the counselors, the friends I made there have remained my friends to this day. If not for them, and nah counselor in CADAS (not Oasis), I do not think I would have celebrated 7 yrs this past February. Once I was ready to get clean & sober, CADAS was the best place for me. I also opted for a 6 month stay at Oasis. Rehab helped a lot. The half-way House was merely a sober living facility with a lot of rules, but I needed that safe place to learn how to live again on my own. I would recommend CADAS/Oasis to anyone I know. When I needed it - it w as there for me. Thank you CADAS and Oasis for being there when I needed you most.
