DO NOT enter their housing program. Please don't bring a loved one there. DO NOT recommend to any unhoused person whom you may care about. They allow only six week's stay, and then they put you out. During those six weeks, you are expected to save 85% of your income for the first and last months' rent and security deposit. A person on a small fixed income cannot save that much in 6 weeks. After that, they put you out, possibly worse off than you were before. I don't know about their rehab and employment programs, maybe these programs work. But their housing program is counterproductive.

The name Gospel Rescue Mission is a misrepresentation of what this place has become. The Gospel says that you will go for the Lost and Broken, That you will help the least of them, and in every circumstance reflect the Love of God to every one who comes with their arm stretched to the House of God The founder of this Beautiful Mission, Mr. Ray Chastain and his Blessed Wife Alice along with the children of God founded and Named this Mission with the intent and Purpose of Worshipping God with their actions and that all the Helpers of this Mission would do as well back when it was Prayed and Blessed in the South Side of Tucson on 28th St., now I can\'t understand what qualifies these individuals not all but the great majority that act in total disrespect those in need.

I had the opportunity to stay at THE CENTER of OPorTUNITY. TWICE.... I left with little dignity... I feared for my safety from staff and residents.... The staff closes their eyes to theft, bad behavior and safety. I went to live on the streets again because I felt I stood a better chance of survival. I am a disabled, senior citizen and was expected to work for my keep and did. However, I had to work even harder to get my own needs met. And still was treated as an imbisal... PLEASE if you are thinking of starting your life over due to hardship... RUN don't walk away from the mission. Save yourself. Look to GOD relief not the hindrance of the work you will have to advocate for yourself.

I was there off and on for 10 months I was on extention list for bed I had temporary job overnight so I asked for bed . This morning I was told they had helped me enough > This coming from a guy who was homeless many more years then I have been now director of mission. I never caused any problems my conclusion is the Love of God is not there . Its sad that it makes them feel good to kick people when there already down .
