Our daughter is currently receiving care at Kolob. We could NOT be happier with the treatment our family is receiving. Our daughter is finding peace and personal insight, making life long friends, and learning to trust again. My husband and I are SO well supported by the staff and are in constant communication with our daughter\'s therapist, Ruth. The connection between Ruth and our daughter is undeniable. She has made more progress in a month at Kolob than she did the entire previous year in outpatient therapy and group therapy. My husband and I participate in virtual family therapy with our kiddo weekly. When extra time is necessary, our therapist accommodates. It is CLEAR that our family\'s well-being is at the heart of Kolob\'s mission. The additional resources available to us include a family support group, numerous live, small group webinars offering tangible, data driven therapies and philosophies, and a large library of recorded webinars. We feel very well supported and are learning so much. The girls do work hard. They care for the horses, regardless of weather, care for themselves and their spaces. They learn responsibility and personal efficacy. The students take weekly day trips to practice their DBT skills in real time with their therapists. Once a month, the embark on a multi-day/night excursion. This is an experiential treatment facility! The girls rebuild their self-worth by learning for these successes, and that they are dependable and valuable. This is a critical part of the experience. The facilities at Kolob are commensurate with the price tag. Our daughter is comfortable, well fed, and deeply cared for. She is safe and beginning to thrive. Kolob was recommended to us by the incredible team at The Menninger Clinic. Menninger is consistently ranked in the top five behavioral health hospitals in the country. Kolob was their first choice for our kiddo. As for cost, Kolob does not take insurance BUT they have a separate division that submits claims directly to insurance for out of network reimbursement. The process has been so simple and we have yet to need to speak directly to our insurance carrier. The reimbursement checks just started to show up in our mailbox about 45 days into the process.

They learn responsibility and personal efficacy. This is an experiential treatment facility! The girls rebuild their self-worth by learning for these everyday successes, and that they are dependable and valuable. This is a critical part of the experience. As for the reviewer who complained that neither of his children was \'cured\' after their time, I don\'t know what to say. These challenges are *family* challenges that take work, dedication, and sacrifice. Sending your children off to be \'cured\' is completely antithetical to the process and a wholly absurd expectation. The facilities at Kolob are commensurate with the price tag. Our daughter is comfortable, well fed, and deeply cared for. She is safe and beginning to thrive. Kolob was recommended to us by the incredible team at The Menninger Clinic. Q.W
I am a previous girl from Kolob and i will say i had the worst time ever.I did not like the medication administered. Don\'t like how you feel on them, too bad you have to wait for the \"Doctor\" to come back in and talk to you. I understand \"safety and super safety\" (when you first come in to make sure you are not a run or suicide risk) but a lot of times girls would have to do early morning horse chores in the cold. There is no real dietary care for each girl individually, when i was there we were put on the dietary needs of the biggest girl that was there ( around 200 pounds) i gained a tremendous amount of weight to the point where i had to go on a diet when i get home cause i was considered obese. I was lied to by my on site therapist and i was made to take punishments for things i did not do. The girls there have no say in anything and will never be listened too. I am actively working to get Kolob looked into and investigated. I would highly recommend that you find alternative methods to helping your child.

My children both attended Kolob Canyon. This was presented as a residential treatment facility with high academic teaching facilities. The teaching was completely nil. The equestrian facilities provided just one or two hours per week of therapy. And, worst of all, the staff appeared completely incompetent. ... Really, scary stuff. All for $6,500/month/child. I am sorry I subjected my children to this and it did not cure the ailment they were sent for, anorexia, self-mutilation.
