I liked how they make you accountable for your actions. Call you on everything you're doing wrong, and have been doing wrong, that got you to the breaking point. They encourage forgiveness and reconciliation within marriage & with family - saying a person has changed, even if they are on the fence. Some of the people are fantastic, and really devoted to helping you recover, and are kind to your loved ones. Recovery is a long road, and a long process, and there may be more wrong with a person than *just* their addiction. Getting a person off all substances is one thing. Identifying character challenged individuals is another. I don't think people who lack empathy should be encouraged to reunite with their families. They need way more help than you can get here. Addiction is a choice. Staying sober is also a choice. Once you're off whatever substance you're addicted to - you still need to work on your character as a person. How you could do such destructive things to your loved ones. I'm not really sure if The Farm is helpful in this regard. But, for what they are - it's a good program. Being hard on a person is what it takes, and they do that.
