At Oxford, your treatment won’t be one-size-fits-all. We know that every person has a unique story and unique goals for recovery. You’ll receive a personalized treatment plan, created for you by our caring and qualified team, tailored to your individual goals and needs. Our continuum of care will ensure that you’ll have every step of treatment you need. Whether you need medical detox, a stay in a residential program, or an intensive outpatient program, you’ll find a comprehensive program at Oxford. We offer a wide range of therapies and treatment modalities to help you achieve your goal of recovery. We capitalize on our scenic location in Etta Mississippi near a national forest, and incorporate outdoor activities, such as hiking and horseback riding, into our therapies. We also offer music, art, and trauma-informed therapies, in addition to the usual group and individual therapy courses. We also have a variety of treatment modalities, including but not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavior therapy. Recovery involves much more than giving up substances—it’s a whole new way of living and connecting with yourself and others. At Oxford, we have an ideal environment in Etta Mississippi that allows us to provide a whole host of activities and amenities that allow you to connect to nature, reflect, restore your physical health, and reconnect. Whether you want to focus on strengthening your body at our fitness centers, meditate on the banks of our private lake, or work with animals in our equine therapy program, our facility will provide a variety of features to not only make your stay enjoyable but to give you the best possible head start in recovery. While your recovery toolkit will have filled up nicely by the end of your stay at residential treatment, not everybody is ready to move forward alone. Oxford’s aftercare planners and alumni coordinators will make sure you have a plan and a support network for transitioning back into the world after treatment. We also know the importance of making and maintaining a network of sober individuals, so we’ll connect you with local AA and 12-step chapters and with a national alumni network to provide you with a comprehensive support network for recovery.

Specialization

  • Residential Treatment

Residential treatment programs provide housing (food and meals) in addition to treatment for substance abuse. Some facilities offer only short-term residential treatment, some offer only long-term treatment and others offer both, ranging from a few days to many months, based on patient needs.
  • Individualized Treatment

Some facilities have an addiction treatment protocol that all patients or clients are expected to follow, while others customize or individualize treatment based on a person’s unique needs and circumstances. Factors that may affect treatment decisions include age, lifestyle, medical conditions, type of drug, religious beliefs, etc.
  • Medical Detoxification

Drugs and alcohol have widespread effects throughout your body, including but not limited to the addiction and/or physical/psychological dependence that develops with substance abuse over time. Many organ systems are affected by addiction and will react to withdrawal. The term “medical detoxification” means that there is a trained and licensed medical professional onsite to monitor your vital signs and protect your physical and emotional health as your body goes through withdrawal.
  • Family Program

Research shows that the odds of successful, sustained recovery from addiction are far higher when family members and loved ones are involved in treatment. Drug and alcohol addiction often have genetic roots, whether related to substance abuse, mental illness or both. Family dynamics also play a role and, often, family members are the first to realize a loved one has developed an addiction. Also, it’s important for family members to understand and embrace the lifestyle changes that are required to sustain recovery.

ABOUT OXFORD TREATMENT CENTER - ETTA

Oxford Treatment Center remains open and committed to providing critical addiction treatment during the Coronavirus pandemic. As per the updated CDC guidelines, patients who are vaccinated may not need to quarantine upon admissions. Operated by American Addiction Centers and set in a remote, lakeside setting in Etta, Miss., Oxford Treatment Center provides services for adults struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Although the Etta-based facility specializes in providing medically-supervised detox and residential treatment, an additional center in Oxford offers a partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient treatment (IOP), standard outpatient (OP) treatment, and continuing care.

According to its website, the facility guarantees a complimentary 30-day stay to any client who relapses after completing 90 days of treatment. TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Often clients begin treatment at the facility with medically managed detox. During this process, participants receive 24-hour supervision and medication to ease the symptoms of withdrawal. Once stabilized, they transition to residential treatment, which is based on 12-step principles and includes individual, group, and family therapy.

According to the website, most clients meet with a psychologist or psychiatrist at least twice a week. In the evenings, residents attend 12-step meetings. They also engage in a range of holistic, experiential, and alternative treatment modalities, including art and music therapy, equine therapy, and wilderness education.

At the conclusion of treatment, clients receive an aftercare plan, which may include additional treatment through Oxford’s PHP, IOP, and OP.
