Areas of Specialization
  • 12-Step
The term “12 Step Program” describes a way to recover from addiction that is based on the model developed by Alcoholics Anonymous. Many drug and alcohol treatment centers base their treatment on 12 steps – the first three of which are situational, the next four addressing the practical issues created by the addiction, followed by two steps focused on making amends for hurting others. Steps 10 and 11 involve a deeper examination of the previous steps and the final step is focused on helping others avoid and recover from addiction.
  • Client & Family Support Groups
Group therapy is a vital component of addiction recovery treatment, considered as important and effective (sometimes even more so) than individual therapy. Benefits include reducing isolation and loneliness and providing the opportunity to learn from others in recovery. In the addiction setting, group therapy is run by trained professionals who guide participants toward a shared goal of recovery.

The men at Purple Men’s Active Recovery were there when I needed it most for over a decade. After years of cycling in and out of recovery and addiction in my twenties my thirties have never looked so promising. The treatment during your stay at Purple is immersive and intense. You are perpetually thrown into physical activities and 12 step based recovery meetings throughout Atlanta. You are taught how to properly participate in life yet again with new found perspective from sobriety. The brotherhood of graduated alumni are there to educate and entertain you as you start to learn how to hold a job/go to meetings/ make friends/ accomplish goals/ and live a purpose built life. I can’t recommend this place enough and if you are serious about making a change.

Purple is a unique and wonderful program for young men with addiction. The model of extended support and family participation is like no other program I know of.

I came through Purple roughly 2 years ago! I was broken and unsure who I was! If it hadn’t been through this program, God knows where I would be now! Purple didn’t just lead me to a better way of life, if showed me that being a true man is the ultimate goal I am wanting to gain! The staff is there for you because they have been right where you were! The alumni portion of the program added more to the equation! Not many places do you have the option to be close with people on a daily basis who have been through where you currently are at! Thank you Purple!

This place literally saved my life, in and out of jails prisons and institutions since I was legal 17. I came at 23 years old, just released from prison 2 weeks prior. Everyone who works here was once a purple client, so they get what I’m feeling and going through. They’ve been there, they showed me a way of living that other facilities didn’t focus on. How to have fun in sobriety while building friendships, fellowship has been huge for me since the day I started my journey. I personally don’t have any family in GA anymore except for the friends I have made here, who I’ve come to view as family. Love this place highly recommend!

After 20 plus years of drug use and almost completely ruining my life I went to Purple. The staff and Alumni had experienced the same things that I had and they shared their experience with me which gave me hope when I had none. I've got over a year clean now and now am an Almuni of Purple. It was up to me to put the work in but it was them who showed me the direction to go in and gave me the tools to use and how to use them. I'll always be grateful for the things I learned there and would highly recommend this program to anyone needing help with substance abuse.
