The focus of cognitive behavioral therapy (also called CBT) is helping people to understand the thoughts and emotions that underlie their addiction with the goal of learning new, healthier and more productive ways to understand and express themselves.Client & Family Support Groups
Group therapy is a vital component of addiction recovery treatment, considered as important and effective (sometimes even more so) than individual therapy. Benefits include reducing isolation and loneliness and providing the opportunity to learn from others in recovery. In the addiction setting, group therapy is run by trained professionals who guide participants toward a shared goal of recovery.

- Karen Peters, LMHCClinical DirectorKaren Peters is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over fifteen years’ experience in the behavioral health and social service field. Ms. Peters' clinical experience covers a diverse spectrum, and she is able to employ various treatment strategies to best suit her clients. Ms. Peters has experience working in office and community-based settings, for large non-profit organizations, mid-sized groups, and smaller private settings. Ms. Peters utilizes a variety of strategies and techniques to provide individualized treatment to each of her clients. As Clinical Director at Reflections of Recovery, Ms. Peters provides clinical oversight to the clinical team to help ensure you receive quality clinical services. Karen Peters earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida, and her Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Troy State University. Ms. Peters trained under experienced clinician and a behavior analyst, giving her a healthy blend of experience with both counseling and behavioral strategies that she implements with her clients on a daily basis. Ms. Peters is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida (MH8663) and is also a Board Qualified Supervisor. Ms. Peters joined the Reflections of Recovery team in February 2016.
- Rachelle TaylorProgram DirectorRachelle is the Program Director at Reflections of Recovery. She has been in the medical field for 20 years, from Pediatrics to Pulmonary and now Substance Abuse/Mental Health. “Working in the Substance Abuse field is challenging and rewarding profession. To see clients and their families believe there is hope for recovery and achieve their goals is indescribable. I strive to help clients and their families see there is freedom from this disease and help them learn how to live the quality life they deserve.”
