Detox
Though not all rehab facilities offer “medical detoxification,” all people with an addiction to drugs or alcohol will experience intense physical and emotional changes and discomfort as their bodies react to withdrawal of the addictive substance. Many people use the term “detox” to refer to the period of time (ranging from a few days to a week) when the body is reacting to an addict’s decision to stop using.Creative Arts Therapy

Meet the Staff
Sherry Mincey, M.Ed., CAP, ICADC, NCIPClinical DirectorSherry Mincey holds an undergraduate degree in Communication Arts from Georgia Southern University and a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and Education from Troy State University. Prior to her work at Stepping Stone, she worked with Child and Family Services as a case manager, therapist and Family Service Coordinator working to address changes in the family system. Sherry works to provide the needed knowledge, insight and services to individuals struggling with the disease of addiction.
