About Stonegate Center

We believe addiction is an issue of the heart. When a man is living in the fullness of his calling, knows his purpose, & understands God's vision for his life he is unlikely to use substances. We believe addiction starts as an attempt to medicate a wound. Usually that wound is something based in deep pain, shame, or fear. Most often it has been suppressed for so long that it is hard for the addict to recognize the effect on his life. We believe that these wounds/deeper issues of the heart are the things that need to be addressed for true freedom from addiction. Spiritually, we introduce men to a God that loves them unconditionally. Mentally, our licensed therapists help them sort out the tangles in our clients lives & offer new solutions to their struggles. Physically, Our Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors address the nuts & bolts of addiction. They educate clients about the physical effects that drugs & alcohol have on our lives. They also address how to identify triggers & manage cravings. Ultimately we believe freedom is found in Christ. At Stonegate, God uses willing men He has equipped to speak the truth in love in to restore sanity to the broken.

As a former client (Summer 2017) I\'ll share how far Stonegate Ctr will go to assist an individual enslaved to alcoholism. James met me at DFW and drove me to Baylor Scott & White Dallas for 72 hours of medically monitored detox. On the following Monday morning, Dusty met ne @ BSW Dallas and drove me to Stonegate Ctr. Stonegate assighed me a roommate (mentor) who had been there for 70 days. As a 1st time rehab patient, this was a huge blessing! A mentor with their heart in the program to show me the ropes & answer my questions about day to day living, etc. Big Mike, Satchal & Jacoby would met with me for individual counseling. My 60 days at Stonegate was a safe and controlled environment for me to begin building a personal foundition of sobriety, within 24 hour increments of time. During this 60 days, I never searched for a \"Silver bullet\" because I knew they don\'t exist. I did go into Stonegate with the resolve of \"I\'ll get out to it what I put in to it\" with the staff showing me the way. I pushed forward each day, while \"eating the hay and leaving the straw.\" The Lord God answered my prayers during my time at Stonegate. I was powerless to stop drinking due to my cravings. My cravings were like fire, which is never satisfied and always wants more. I was powerless, but still had to make the personal decision fhat I wanted to stop drinking. When I surrendered my desire to drink to the Lord, He supernaturally took away my desire and cravings. Surrendering this to God was like a P.O.W. held captive for 35 years being liberated and set free. This happened for me on site at Stonegate during the Summer of 2017! After walking over the bridge, I went to a sober living facility in Fort Worth for August 2017. I wanted to do this!! I wasn\'t ready to cross the Bridge and 3 hours later land on a plane back in my old world. I wanted this transitional time between Stonegate (Super safe & controlled environment) and my old real world setting. This \"time\" was a good investment for my recovery. Stonegate Center is a top shelf first class facility for anyone who truly desires obtaining and maintaining sobriety. But bottom line, at the end of the day you have to want this for yourself. Since leaving Stonegate, I have 35 months alcohol free. While the Lord God took away my cravings, it has been my responsibility to choice to stay away from the first drink, for today. My yesterday is dead and gone. I\'m not promised a tomorrow. So for today, I choose to stay away from the first drink. Stonegate had a huge positive impact on my life.

Worst experience in Rehab facility- director- Candice lied to me as well as administrator! Promised Dr appts could not accommodate! No real medical staff on duty ! A let down - would Never recommended this place to get Sobriety! And be careful when you decide leave - You will have to carry your luggage out down a hill & gravel in humiliation... and No one there to open fence where my Son was waiting... so I had to pass my bags & climb over a Fence cuz no Staff had key pass- Just Horrible

Words can not express my gratitude for Stonegate. They were able to hhelp my daughter when I could not no matter how hard I tried. The overall case management was amazing. Julia always keep in touch with me at the sametime respecting my daughter's privacy. They addressed ever need she had. This took so much off me so I could work on myself. They do not stop assisting when your 90 days are up. They truly assist with aftercare. Thank you so much for helping my daughter and our family.

The program director and executive director have absolutely nothing to do with the clients except to show up for one hour a day 3 times/week to chew out the clients. There is absolutely zero medical staff. They have a P.A. as their lead medical "doctor" and he is only there for 2-3 hours ONE TIME a week. He's incompetent. The LVN nurse that is there is extremely incompetent and is very rude. She is lazy. The living conditions in the mens facility are very poor. The facility's rooms are infested with bed bugs. The clients are made to "deep clean" the facility one time per week. The cleaning supplies are old and disgusting. Clients are required to cook breakfast 7 days a week, clean dishes for the entire population and staff after every meal using 2 small residential grade sinks, of which one has a broken garbage disposal. The "programming" is run by RAs with less than 2 yrs. sobriety. Only out of AA book. No professional lectures. Go to outside meeting 2 times in 90 days. Counseling sessions offered for one hour per week. Staff lies to family members about the client's wll being and progress in the program. The staff strongly pushes the company owned sober living facility to EVERY client, regardless of their situation. Phone calls are offered one time per week for a total of 15 minutes. The call is done on speaker phone with a staff member listening to the conversation and taking notes. If the client says anything negative about the facility, or asks to be picked up, or if the conversation is deemed "negative" then the staff member immediately hangs up the call with no explanation to the person on the phone. If you wish to leave the facility early, you are not given a phone call for your family to pick you up. The staff makes you take all of your belongings with you and walk out of the facility. The nearest store is at least 10 miles away. Between the refusal of phone call and made to walk for hours on end, the facility makes it almost impossible for you to leave on your own free will.
