ABOUT SYNERGY RECOVERY CENTER FOR WOMEN
Located in Rogersville, Mo., 19 miles east of Springfield, Synergy Recovery Center for Women provides an upscale, gender-specific residential program for women seeking treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring mental health concerns. It is one of Missouri's 102 (39.7 percent) facilities that offer programs specifically for women.
In addition, the facility offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for both men and women, as well as specialized educational classes and support groups. The residential center does not offer on-site detoxification services.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Before beginning treatment, clients participate in an initial behavioral and psychiatric assessment to help clinicians develop an individualized plan of care. The length of the residential program at Synergy Recovery Center for Women is designed to last between 60 days up to 180 days (six months), making it one of Missouri’s 28 (10.9 percent) long-term treatment facilities.
Synergy Recovery Center for Women utilizes a range of evidence-based treatment methods, holistic therapies, and 12-step immersion to help clients acquire and maintain sobriety. During residential treatment, clients participate in individual, family, and group therapy sessions to help clients identify and change destructive thinking patterns that may contribute to addictive behavior. Clients also regularly attend 12-step meetings, and SMART Recovery sessions are also available.
The facility also holds experiential and educational classes that address a range of topics, including improving life skills, setting relationship boundaries, parenting, health education, and stress management. To address issues related to trauma, Synergy Recovery Center for Women utilizes eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EDMR). In addition, clients with co-occurring mental health concerns may attend specialized counseling groups and relevant educational sessions, as well as receive ongoing medication management.
In addition to evidence-based treatments, Synergy Recovery Center for Women offers a variety of holistic treatments designed to promote free expression, reduce stress, and improve mindfulness. Holistic therapies included music and art therapy, guided yoga sessions, exercise sessions, and mindful meditations. Acudetox, a specialized ear acupuncture practice, is available making Synergy one of the six (2.3 percent) facilities in Missouri that offer acupuncture.
Once a client completes residential treatment, clinicians may encourage graduates to transition into the facility's intensive outpatient program to continue treatment, which includes group and individual counseling and education classes. The IOP program and aftercare programs are co-ed unless specifically designed for gender groups. Synergy Recovery Center for Women also offersa range of outpatient-based educational programs, including gender-specific, grief and loss, relationship, domestic abuse, and relapse prevention program tracks.

Synergy Recovery Center for Women employs a multidisciplinary comprised of licensed professional counselors, clinical psychologists, nurses, holistic therapists, a yoga instructor, nutritionist, and an acupuncturist.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Synergy Recovery Center for Women is an 8-bed upscale, homelike facility with a sprawling yard, an outdoor pool with sun deck, outdoor patios with fire pits, yoga studio, home theater, and art studio. The facility also features luxurious, well-furnished communal areas, and clients enjoy either private suites or spacious double-occupancy bedrooms. The facility has meeting rooms and classrooms, and transportation to 12-step meetings off-site is provided.

Reviews from secondary sources revealed that other alumni strongly supported this glowing review. On Google, 41 reviewers awarded the facility 4.8 out of five stars. Many alumni also provided positive feedback about the facility's staff, as well as its upscale accommodations and quality of food.
On Facebook, where the facility can manage its page, Synergy Recovery Center earned an average of 4.8 out of five stars from 25 reviews to date. Alumni described the facility as “wonderful,” “super comfortable” and “high end”. Several alumni also noted the “excellent staff” and wrote how the treatment was life-saving.
On Yelp, 11 of the 13 reviews were maximum five-star ratings and two were one-star ratings. Positive reviewers praised staff and treatment, though both one-star reviewers would not recommend treatment at the facility. R.S. wrote how the facility hasn’t been able to “deliver on most of their claims.” R.S. added: “I did not learn anything meaningful or anything that would help me cope once in the real world again. I have co-occuring disorders. These were not addressed at all.”

In 2016, Springfield News-Leader reported that Synergy expanded to include a new facility in Springfield. This facility offers counseling services, and serves as an extension of the residential program.
