The Blackberry Center

The Blackberry Center is not a Mental Health facility. They do not offer Mental Health services only Drug and Alcohol. Staff friendly and food excellent. They found me a group home to stay in Cherry House owned by Marie. .

My relative stayed at this facility and expressed that the services were excellent very nice, caring staff the programs were informative and helped to visualize a better life without dependence on alcohol or party drugs...The staff were amazing.

PLEASE DO NOT go to this facility. I wasted 4 ½ days at Blackberry. The salesman promised us everything and delivered nothing. No individual therapy/counseling No instructor led group therapy No Treatment Team meeting This is a voluntary program BUT you are locked down behind 3 sets of doors. You cannot leave unless you have an outside advocate. Drugs were being smuggled into the units Clean towels, pillows, soap, shampoo, etc. are not available No security, staff is not allowed restrain violent patients Daily activities (other than meals & smoke breaks) were watching TV and doing kids’ coloring pages Former maximum security prisoners are in the same unit as drug, alcohol, and mental patients. Profanity, conflicts, negativity and talk of drugs were a daily part of life. Patient 1: Spent over 25 years in a maximum security prison. Talked of how to smuggle drugs into prison and into Blackberry. Patient 2: Taught us how to scam Walmart out of carts full of groceries using a hotel key card. Patient 3: Was obviously over-medicated. Walked around aimlessly in their underwear trying to start conflicts. Tried to get into other patients rooms in the middle of the night. Extremely stressful, negative experience. Would NOT recommend to anyone. The only positive comment I can make is that the nursing staff was very compassionate and caring.

I spent 28 days at The BlackBerry and it was the best thing I ever did. I gained so much knowledge while I was there. I attended every group and I was amazed at how caring the staff was. They went out of their way to make everything go smoothly. The kitchen would try to accommodate everyone's diets and would go the extra mile to make sure I had my Glucerna drinks. Paul made a special trip to get the Glucerna.

Just talked to the intake person on the phone. I am hurting bad and need help. The man I talked with was the rudest condescending jerk he could be. I can\'t believe the way he talked to me when I\'m searching for help. People call at there worst looking for a capationat understanding person! This man should be fired!!!!
