About WhiteSands Alcohol & Drug Rehab Plant City

At WhiteSands Treatment Center, our philosophy revolves around the positive belief that everyone has the capacity to improve and grow. We know that you can overcome your limitations through changes in attitudes, habits, and behavior, and we are here to help you do just that! Alcohol abuse and drug addiction are chronic problems that affect both the body and the mind, so we don’t just treat physiological dependency; our dual diagnosis treatment programs also work to locate and change factors that might make it difficult to abstain from drug and alcohol abuse in the long term. We are entirely committed to helping you reach your fullest potential. We want to encourage and inspire you to have confidence and faith in yourself; to learn how to forgive not just yourself, but also those around you. Ultimately, recovery is about healing. Here at WhiteSands, we know that alcohol and drug addiction affects everyone differently. We maintain the creed that you deserve a customized treatment program tailored to your highly specific situation, so all of our alcohol and drug addiction treatment programs are updated and modified as an individual’s situation evolves. This careful process maximizes your chances of a successful recovery.

White Sands in Plant City is an amazing place. It has all you need to support growth and health while you are there. When ready for recovery it supports mind, body, and spirit. I am grateful for this place. Highly recommend…. Thank you again staff.

A worthless joke. Best thing about this place is you can vape (and get your phone every day from 445-1030pm IF you go to classes). Detox is OK in that you're not expected to do anything (and still get your phone for 1 hour each night). But you don't get a say in your detox program/course of treatment. They also count your detox time as part of residential. They push most people out at 18-21 days. So if you're looking for a little break or vacation, this place is great but if you're looking to save your life GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. If you have great insurance you'll be in group one and treated very well. If not you'll be in group two (Florida Blue I'm talking to you), in which case you'll be pushed through to Hyde Park, which is the most awful experience of my life (even compared to 15 years of active addiction) and a lawsuit waiting to happen. When you're at Plant City, White Sands doesn't care if you're still struggling and want to stay or NEED to stay. They need to make room for more detox patients. So only expect to stay about 20 days. The food at Plant City is mostly awful unless you like cereal and salad. It's overcooked, unhealthy and if you're a little late you're likely to get nothing. There's not much community because everything is spread out and you're broken up into 2 groups (as stated before - good insurance vs poor). And AA/NA isn't mandatory. So you're done every day by 445pm latest. No donations here, so if you come with nothing but the clothes on your back that's all you'll have. You get to choose between 2 classes each period. Which is nice unless you need both. And each class is on a 3 to 4 week cycle so you'll never get the full intended program of each. Therapy sessions are ONLY 30mins 2 times a week. Not enough time to help. They have some great amenities, but like most you'll be too out if it to enjoy any before you have to leave. Or you'll be lucky enough to get a smoothie even though they're not open the hours stated. One of the great things about this place is that a lot of their staff is in recovery. So they get it. Those are the people that will treat you well (a couple of case managers, a lot of the BHTs and a few of the food service workers). Which is what got the 2 stars. If I knew these things before i went i would've chosen another place 1000%. If I knew they were going to push me out to PHP after 2 weeks in residential, I would've gone somewhere else. (Especially after going to their PHP at Hyde Park. It's a living nightmare). Save yourself another failed rehab attempt and go somewhere else!

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this facility and my recovery is a testimony to the care and discipline of the staff at white sands. My case manager helped me to set up and develop an aftercare plan I am still using to walk out my new life today. I would suggest this treatment center to anyone who is serious and honest about their willingness to do what’s necessary for success.

I have been overly impressed with White Sands and what they have been able to do for a loved one. Brian Quigley went above and beyond with helping me understand ho the program works and what they are able to offer for help. Finding the right place to send a loved one is hard but Brian made it very easy for me to make my choice. Thank you Brian and white Sands.
